The Transformation Starts In Your Mind

Something I see all the time is clients will often over-complicate or over-imagine what they think they need to do in order to get the physical results they’re looking for.

This can lead them down a disastrous path of restrictive diets that:

a) don’t work in the long term

b) wreck their metabolism and other health markers

c) make them miserable

Often that may be accompanied (or the diet aspect may be ditched altogether in favour of) an overly gruelling and time consuming workout routine that only increases stress and so fails to get results.

Listen, the above is easily fixed if you know what you’re doing, but the important thing to recognise that the key to starting, and sustaining transformation starts in your mind.

Our beliefs are powerful things, and if deep down we believe we can’t achieve something… guess what? You’ll derail – or maybe not even start.

That’s why we often talk about the concept of borrowing belief until you start to see your own evidence.

How many times have you talked yourself out of a good decision for your future with excuses like, “when it’s the right time”, “when I have more time”, “once these trousers really don’t fit…”

That’s our subconscious attempting to keep us “safe” by preserving the status quo.

Our subconscious fears change, so when we’re going for a goal of any sort we’ve got two immediate handicaps: our existing belief system and our subconscious playing safety officer.

How many of you can relate to this?

The good news is that there are rapid ways to both shift our beliefs into new more empowering ones, AND too bring our subconscious on side to accelerate change.

It’s not easy, it does take application but it can be rapid, and it does get results.

That’s why I always start with “who do I want to be” when I look at a goal, because we then have a place to map to in terms of the beliefs and behaviours we’ll need to get there.

The external stuff is easy. It’s even easier when your mind is on board.
