If you think it’s about weight loss you’re missing the point
I get it – you don’t like what you see in the mirror, the waist band on your trousers is a little too tight, you’re not feeling good about stripping off on the beach…
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good, but its now just about that.
Yes looking good and liking yourself is going to pay off with increased confidence, so chances are you’ll start to show up better at work and in your relationships.
But carrying extra weight, particularly around your mid-section at midlife carries a number of heath risks: increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure..
Not only that, but carrying too much body fat inhibits your testosterone production at a stage of life where you’re likely to be low anyway.
So that can mean low energy, loss of focus, low motivation low libido…
So, that’s why weight loss isn’t my focus when I work with clients, but why it’s there as a tool, because I truly believe that we need a healthy mind AND a healthy body.
It’s important to understand your psychology and get that wining for you, working on limiting beliefs, checking in with your values, making sure you’re aligned with your purpose, showing up in your relationship, being a good husband, boyfriend, father.
And all that is easier if the body is on board too.
So answer honesty, are you currently working on your mind AND your body? Or are you neglecting one or both?
I’d love to hear your thoughts….
If you think it’s about weight loss you’re missing the point….
