3 LIES
….that hold us back at midlife…
You are who you are
When we get to midlife, we’ve spent years as a certain identity. Parent, carer, partner – the job you do. The stuff we have.
They all give us a sense of who we are.
But at midlife we begin to feel a shift. Things around us change. Our values change.
And we question whether who we are NOW, is who we really are and who we want to be in the future.
The truth is, you may have been defined by all those labels and your job for years, but that doesn’t mean it has to stay that way.
It isn’t too late for you (another lie!) to use the wisdom that comes with age to reinvent yourself. To rediscover what brings you joy. To give and connect.
Of course it’s scary, but we get this one life and time is ticking. You don’t have to make big changes, but it IS OK to put your happiness first for a change.
You can be whoever you’re being called to be…and if you’re struggling, this is when it’s important to get into a community of like minded people and find the right support – because you’re not alone.
Almost everyone at midlife feels the same…
You can’t have a body that looks and feels good
I can see some eyes rolling with this one.
I’m not saying you’re going to look like Cindy Crawford or Brad Pitt (such 90s names eh?!).
What I am saying is it’s not impossible to rekindle a healthy relationship with your body.
We have many clients say they’re fitter, stronger and happier in their own skin than ever before.
And that’s the goal we’re looking for isn’t it? A mind body connection that makes us feel self respecting…
So don’t EVER believe the lie that this isn’t possible for you because you simply haven’t found the right approach yet.
You’re irrelevant
What you have to offer the world is HUGE.
A gift.
Just because you’re a certain age, it doesn’t mean you’re on the dump heap.
You have so much life left in you – so don’t let your mind or society tell you otherwise.
Growing older is a privilege and your skills, wisdom, resilience and kindness are needed in the workplace and most definitely for the younger generation. We have a way of seeing things that we have a duty to share…
I’d love to know how this sits with you.
