I got it SO wrong.
When I piled on the pounds after my divorce I started to do what I’d always done…
And that was to severely restrict my calories and try to MAKE myself do more cardio.
I thought I’d got it nailed because it ‘worked’
But there was a cost that compounded over time…
And that cost was my happiness, my energy, my self respect.
Not only that, but over the years…
I created gut health issues
My metabolism slowed down from eating too little
And cortisol pulsed through my body due to unhealed emotions AND doing too much cardio with too little energy.
These things actually make it so much harder to achieve the results we seek.
Thank goodness I took the brave decision to say enough is enough.
Thank goodness I finally realised by body is a gift and should no longer be punished.
I then went on to lift weights, understand nutrition and get qualified – so I could show others the way home to their most powerful, accepted and awe inspiring self…
I now know the following to be true:
What ‘worked’ in our 20s and 30s will not work in our 40s and 50s
What WILL work is arming yourself with the right plan, the right tools and the right knowledge for sustainable success.
I also know that you don’t have to go on a restrictive diet
What you need is to learn how to fuel your body with the right foods, at the right times
You also don’t need to do hours of cardio in the gym each day
What you need is to find something that fits into your hectic schedule 3 – 4 times a week, that can be done quickly at home without equipment, and gives you incredible results
You don’t need to lift heavy weights to get muscles
You just need to add some resistance exercises to your routine twice a week to get a more sculpted, toned look
Finally – you don’t have to live with the all or nothing/ feast or famine approach
You can create harmony and balance to your life – that doesn’t require huge sacrifices and is sustainable for the long term.
It’s all possible.
If I can change, anyone can.
If you’d like to chat about how I can support you, I’ve got some space next week in my diary when I’m home from Ibiza.
Just ping me a message.
