A Change Is As Good As A Rest

Whoop! We have a new gym to train in and it’s fantastic – great equipment, friendly vibe, sea views…

Guess what? I feel way more energised today after training there than I have done relaxing in our new home.

Which backs up the old saying that a change is as good as a rest, because when we get comfortable, we cease to grow. We stay stuck in the familiar, and sometimes that familiar can start to become over-familiar.

This can happen with jobs, relationships, goals, what once challenged or excited you became normal, then dull, but it’s safe and familiar.

Perhaps you’ve felt like you need a rest, a break from your life? It’s a familiar feeling, and sometimes we do generally need rest.

Often though, we need to change things up, step outside our comfort zone, start getting excited about things again.

Like training in a new gym. Like setting a new goal. Like arranging a surprise date night.

Relationships can be tricky, we can all too easily fall into the trap of over-familiarity, and we know where that can lead…

No one wants to be taken for granted. No one wants a stale relationship.

Like anything in life we need to invest in what we care about, and we need to keep it not just alive, but thriving.
