I get it. At midlife we’re all busy, and focusing on your career might feel like it’s the most important thing…But, what are you kidding yourself with by telling yourself “I’ll deal with it later”?
Maybe it’s that subtle weight gain that’s not so subtle now.It could be that low level anxiety you feel that’s gradually increasing.
Maybe it’s the self-sabotaging behaviours like drinking too much too often…
Maybe you’re burying yourself in work and ignoring the subtle signs that your body and mind are crying out for attention.
You’re not alone in this. It’s easy to push aside the little things that nag at us and tell ourselves that we’ll deal with them down the line. But the truth is, every time you do this, you’re making things worse.
Newsflash, you’ll never feel “ready” or that the stars have aligned to make this the “perfect time”.
And every time you ignore these things and push them out of your consciousness, they grow a little bit stronger, a little more embedded.
You’re not just kicking the can down the road, you’re making that can bigger and harder to kick each time.
The truth is, somewhere in your mind you already know that you’re not at the peak of your health.
That your mindset isn’t as strong as it could be.
That you’re not showing up as the best version of yourself.
You also know that’s impacting you.
Your relationships.
How you show up in the world.
What’s the point of achieving your goals if you’re too burnt out to appreciate them?
I’m not saying don’t do a great job, but focusing on your career at the expense of yourself is not only a form of avoidance and self-sabotage, but its slowly draining your health and the quality of your life in the long run.
The good news is that it is possible to reclaim that balance to have health and success.
In fact the two go hand in hand. When people step up to prioritise themselves and commit to growth it’s amazing how that reflects in other areas of their life, including their careers.
The question is, are you brave enough to do it, or are you going to keep hiding from yourself, and telling yourself those insidious little lies that make you temporarily feel better?
Or are you going to step up, claim responsibility and commit to creating an amazing life for yourself?
So stop making excuses and start taking action. You don’t need to make big sacrifices to do it. It’s not as hard as you think, and it’s certainly a hell of a lot easier than slowly falling out of love with yourself…

Imagine waking up with energy, passion, and purpose. Imagine living a life that’s fulfilling and exciting.
