I hate to break it to you but very few things worth having come easy.
We’re sold the lie of “quick/fast/easy” but most of the time they are just that, lies.
If we want to create lasting change and create something worthwhile we have to work for it.
Unfortunately that puts a lot of people off because they focus on the cost of the action they need to take, rather than the opportunity cost of staying stuck where they are.
Every decision we make has a cost, whether it’s monetary or a trade-off in terms of time, energy, or other resources. But we need to remember, easy has a cost too…
– Hitting snooze on the alarm day after day = easy, but the cost is you get less from your day.
– Skipping workouts to stay in bed = easy, but the cost is you’re not reaching your body goals.
– Procrastination = easy, but the cost is added stress as your goals move farther away.
– Fast food = easy, but the cost is your health.
– Putting up with someone’s bad behaviour = easy, but the cost is you not protecting your boundaries
I could go on and I’m sure you can think of lots of examples where you’ve gone for “easy” over progress.
It’s worth remembering that when we go for easy, we are sacrificing our progress, our goals, our dreams.
While convenience may be tempting, it often has a hidden cost that hinders our personal growth and development.
To achieve our goals and become the best version of ourselves, we must be willing to put in the effort, embrace challenges and pay the cost today to have the life we want tomorrow.
