Self-Belief Is An Inside Job. But…

Self-belief is an essential component of personal growth and achievement. Think of it as your VIP pass to the club of success. And while it’s great to have cheerleaders in your life, the real secret to having killer self-belief is an inside job.

Self-belief begins with self-awareness and self-acceptance. We must know ourselves deeply and understand our strengths, weaknesses, and limitations. Nobody’s perfect. Accepting your flaws and imperfections is the first step to building a solid foundation of self-belief.

By accepting ourselves for who we are, we can let go of self-doubt and embrace our unique qualities and talents. When we have a strong sense of self, we become more resilient in the face of challenges and setbacks.

However to get the ball rolling, sometimes we need to borrow belief. We say this to our clients all the time: “If you don’t have belief right now, borrow some of ours, because you know we have belief, so come get some.”

That’s why it matters that you surround yourself with positive people aligned with your goals, we call this a container. Surround yourself with positive people who believe in you and your potential. Beware of emotional vampires (they’re out there) who suck the life out of you, and instead mix with people who lift you up and inspire you.

We can cultivate our own self-belief through self-reflection, positive self-talk, and visualization (future rehearsal is a technique we use). By acknowledging our achievements, setting achievable goals, and focusing on our strengths, we can build a solid foundation of self-belief.

Note: self-belief doesn’t mean that we are invincible or that we don’t experience fear or self-doubt. Instead, it means that we have faith in our ability to handle difficult situations and overcome obstacles. It allows us to push through discomfort and take risks, even when we don’t have all the answers or guarantees.

So, self-belief is an inside job, but its also okay to borrow belief when yours is lacking and it helps if you’re in a positive container.

Once we have it (or have borrowed it), then we can build momentum by taking action towards our goals and dreams, even when it feels uncomfortable or scary.

With a strong sense of self-belief, we can accomplish great things and live a fulfilling life.

Where do you need to borrow some belief today?
